Reading in other thread about this gives me a little worry as I don't know HOW to do a "backup". Not sure I have anything actually worth "backing up".
But would like to know what is the usual reason for the hard drive to go bad?

Many just go bad over time. It happens-a lot.

A good jolt or bump while it's on will do the trick instantly on most occasions.

What I wondered about was having too much stuff saved on the hard drive. If that's the place it is saved. Such as "favorites" and programs, that are not absolutely necessary..
Thanks
